A Weekend in Zurich, Switzerland

I start my blog by thanking International Relation Office for conducting a nice excursion to Zurich. Costing only 20 Euros it was an inexpensive trip to an expensive city!

Zurich is just 5 hours from here in bus, I felt going from Germany to Switzerland was like going from Karnataka to Kerala! (No one even bothered to check our passport in the border)

We started early morning at 7 with a group of 25 students. An aged driver took the slowest lane in the express highway but still we managed to reach the city at 1 pm. After keeping the bags in the hostel we were left to wander around the city with 24 hours city transport pass.

Zurich is the biggest city of Switzerland in the northen tip of 'Lake Zurich'( 40 km long lake). To be honest there isn't much to see in the city, we walked along the lake for some time till our body started freezing because of the cold.

Swizz is known for their high precision watches and swizz army knives! Thinking that it would be cheaper, I bought one 'swatch' watch only to find that the same model costed Rs 200 lesser in India! Anyways I bought it for memory!

Next day we went to Kunthaus - world's biggest museum contaning Picasso's art exhibits! We saw and tried to decipher PICASSO's art! "cubism"!! ( No photography were allowed).

After that we went to a place called Uetliberg! The Üetliberg is a mountain in the Swiss plateau, rising to 873 m. The Uetliberg offers a panoramic view of the snow covered Zürich city and the Lake of Zürich with Alps in the background! This is the reason why we came to Switzerland, to see the natural beauty of Swizz and we got a glimpse of it!

We were back to Zurich at 4 and we were back in our room at 10!
